Rethink Church

Looking for a place to feel welcome? You found it! Winterville United Methodist Church is here for you. We are an active small-town church just minutes from the city of Athens, Georgia. It is a place where people can feel comfortable and has groups for people of all ages and all needs.

We do our best to make people feel welcome, and our warm atmosphere makes the Winterville United Methodist Church a place to which people enjoy coming. It is a place where people are loved, wanted and needed. We're all about relationships...with God and with people.

At Winterville United Methodist Church, you can find a place to call home. Though we aren't perfect, we serve a loving God who accepts us as we are and invites us to discover abundant life through Him. Come and be loved!

Lenten Mission Project

Our 2015 Lenten Mission Project will assist in the Eradication of Malaria in Africa.
Over the last few years we've been encouraged to save a quarter, twenty-five cents for each meal or snack we eat during the forty days of Lent. The math is easy when we assume that we average four a day. So over forty days at one dollar per day we accumulate at least forty dollars for our Lenten mission project offering. Perhaps you are not able to accumulate that total, so give what you can, but at least give something so that your effort will be celebrated with that of this faith community. Eventually our Imagine No Malaria Offering will be given at the North Georgia Annual Conference for the Bishop’s Initiative. My prayers and belief is that this very well should be the largest sum total offering our conference has ever received. Why? Who would not like to assist in saving a human life? Especially when $10 is all it will cost. Larger gifts will be greatly appreciated and graciously received, so let us all do as we have been blessed.
