Those of us who have had the joy of raising children know
how fulfilling and rewarding it can be. As joyful as that might be
there are many expenses involved in providing for the needs of a child
from birth to adulthood. As we are not all skilled in the many
crafts, such as a seamstress who can sew her own clothes, or a cobbler who
can make his own shoes and belts, or a farmer who can provide food for
this family, we must rely on the skills of those who can provide these
services for us. If we consider our church and its property our
"child", all of us know there are many expenses involved in maintaining it
and make certain it grows to keep ahead of the growth of our community.
We are not all skilled as carpenters, electricians, plumbers, painters,
etc. Often we must hire people trained in these professions to
provide us with these services.
Our church is blessed with many members who have some of
these skills. As we all have active lives, they are not always able
to provide us with these skills as some of the jobs require more time than
they are able to provide. As a result, we need to hire skilled
professionals to complete the tasks that need to be done in a timely
manner. As our church continues to grow, so does its needs and the
needs of its property. There are always expenses involved. We
have done a considerable amount to improve our church and property in the
last few years. We have received numerous compliments from members
of the community and we have gained new members as well. Our funds
are running low to continue to maintain and improve our property. We
have progressed considerably, and it is my hope and desire that we
continue to do so. We need your support, whether it is your time and
skills or your charitable donations, however large or small they may be.
There are many new projects that members of the church have
suggested to the trustees. We have been discussing and pursuing many
of these projects. We all need to do what we can to remove the
obstacle that may prevent our church, our " child", from reaching
maturity.
