2008 River of Life June 25 - 29River of Life is a ministry to the economically poor and elderly families in our communities. Each day our work teams will go out to minister by painting, re-roofing homes, building wheelchair ramps, porches, etc. If you have any questions regarding River of Life, contact our coordinator, Angela Bouknecht at tomandangelab@yahoo.com or 706.255.0260. FORMS Registration / Permission Form - Bring complete registration form for each participating youth with you to the ROL event. No youth will be able to participate without this form being signed. Please send a list of youth and counselors, along with ages, gender, and work preferences to: Angela Bouknecht, ROL Coordinator, Winterville United Methodist Church, P.O. Individual packets of jellies, cream cheese, cereals Half pint cartons of Milk - 2%, whole and chocolate Juices (apple, orange, grape) Individual bottles of Gatorade, water, juices. Bread (white, wheat) Soft drinks Chips Crackers Cookies Individually wrapped Trail Mix bars, Krispy Treats, Nutri-grain Bars, cakes and pies, etc. Individual bags of chips for lunches Fruits (bananas, apples)
Tools & Equipment Needed: Pick-up truck Post hole diggers Step ladders Extension ladders Paint scrapers Flat edge shovels Plastic paint buckets Circular power saws Drills (with Phillips/flat bits) Tape measure Bubble balance Extension cord (200 ft) Work gloves
Be sure to label your tools with your name and the name of your church so we can properly group them for their return after the projects have been completed.
River of Life T-shirts If you are working a team or serving in any way, please order your t-shirts by May 15th. The order will be placed on this date so they will be back in time for River of Life. Call the church office @ 706-742-2445 or email your list to wintervilleumc@gmail.com.
Leadership & Volunteers Needed! In addition to your prayers for River of Life, we need people who are willing to serve in leadership roles and as helpers. Please prayerfully consider how you might use your gifts to help organize and carry out plans for our 2008 summer mission event. If
you would like to serve as a coordinator or as a team member, please call
the church office at "Cast A Coin into the River of Life!" Coin jars are available on the table in the Sanctuary. Take one home and toss your loose change into the jars and return them by June 11th. The coins collected will help pay for some of our supplies/materials needed to start the mission event. Cell Phone & Inkjet Cartridges Winterville United Methodist Church has an ongoing cell phone and inkjet cartridge recycling fundraising drive to benefit the River of Life Program. There’s nothing to buy. We are simply asking everyone to safeguard the environment by donating their old digital cell phone(s) and used printer inkjet cartridges. The tax deductible cell phone and ink cartridge donation(s) will be recycled in accordance with EPA regulations or refurbished and sold. 100% of the proceeds will go towards defraying the cost of materials. A receipt for tax deductible purposes will be provided for those who request one. Please phone the church office (706-742-2445) or email the Fundraising Coordinator for a receipt. You may download a printable poster to attach to a box, which can be placed in your office or other place of employment, school, church, etc. for collecting cell phones and ink cartridges. Once full, either deliver it to the office at Winterville UMC, or email the Coordinator to arrange for a DHL pickup. If you have any other questions, please feel free to email.

Only
digital phones will be accepted (no walkie-talkies, two-way radios,
pagers, PDA’s, cordless home phones, mock display units, analog phones,
or “bag” phones). No manuals or accessories will be accepted.
Damaged phones are OK.
Printer
ink cartridges must not be damaged; I.e. cartridge case, circuitry and
print head must not be broken. Use zip lock bags to individually wrap
each cartridge. No laser or toner cartridges. (If the cartridge is
larger than the palm of your hand it is not an ink jet cartridge.)
